Technical Advisor Service

Chris Higgins, director of Live4Adventure, holds the MIC (the UK’s top climbing qualification), is a BCU level IV Canoe Coach, a Swift Water Rescue Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, mountain rescue Team Leader and has over 25 years experience of instructing and leading people in the outdoors. Chris is the Technical Advisor for a number of providers across the UK.

Chris has extensive experience of building and maintaining high and low ropes courses, training and assessing Mountain Leader Summer, Single Pitch and BCU Awards and delivering staff training and competency assessments in non NGB activities such as ghyll scrambling and high ropes.

 

In running his own businsess for the past 16 years Chris has a full understanding of the needs of centres in relation to compliance with outdoor industry standards and in particular licencing requirements, such as risk assessments, operating guidelines and procedures. Chris aims to build long and trusting relationships with everyone he works with as Technical Advisor with his underlying philosophy being that safe and enjoyable adventures are good for everyone.

  • Calvert Lakes - one of only a handful of dedicated, specialist centres providing activities to people with disabilities

  • Calvert Reconnections - the UK’s first intensive acquired brain injury rehabilitation centre focused on outdoor activities
